PROHIBITION CAMPAIGN.
♦ : .. — . • (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, last night. At the Presbyterian Assembly tonight the report of the Temperance Committee was submitted. The committee's deliverance included th & following : "That the assembly expresses its appreciation of Parliament having granted a referendum on the National Efficiency Board's proposal ; that all ministers, office-bearei's, and members of ouv church be urged to use their utmost endeavors to secure the carrying of national prohibition on April 10th ; that the committee bo authorised" to issue a manifesto to be read m all our churches; that Sunday, March 30th, be appointed a- day of prayer for God's guidance and blessing m the present prohibition campaign ; that the assembly declares that it reeards the issue of national ownership of the liq-uor tra*ffic as a calamitous proposal which would m np wise lessen the worst evils connected £he use of alcohol as a beverage." The report and' dpliverance were unanimously adopted^
