Johannes Meertens, who pleaded guilty to a charge of carnal knowledge, came before Mr Justice Edwards today. Counsel submitted that the man had been sinned against rather than sinning. His Honor said -that the facts indicated that, the, 'girl concerned, though under sixteen was ah immoral character. However, the. prisoner knew he was committing a breach of the law, and would be sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment..
