Quite an unusual sight was witnessed m town recently m the shape of a bullock team. As these slow-moving creature© slowly progressed up our main street, it was interesting to note the comparieon between them and other modes of traction. Carriers' carte passed them as though they (were standing, but the difference was most marked when a heavilyladen motor lorry\ drawing a trailer, also filled with goods? rattled past the patient bullocks aftd soon left them far m the rear. This was a striking example of the difference m modern methods and those of years ago. This difference is very pronounced, m the shops m our main street. One window m particular stands out prominently. Crammed full of goods, all marked m plain figures, it is indeed an eye-opener.^ In spite of the tremendous advance m the original cost of every line, the goods displayed by 'The People's Emporium" are still sold -at bedrock prices, and this progressive firm thoroughly merits the liberal support they receive.*
