BOWLING.
KAHUTIA CLUB
There. was a large attendance of members on the^a'bove club's green on Saturday afternoon. The green was in splendid, order, and the different games in the club fours competition, were most keenly contested. During the -afternoon the Hon. T. M. Wilford, Minister of Marine, Mri Geo. Allport, Secretary of Marine, his Worship the Slayor", and others visited the green. The party were introduced by Sir James Carroll in. a rieat speech, after which the Hon. T. M^ Wilford spoke, and thanked the members for 'their hearty welcome. He said he •w"as highly pleased, and they should: also be, with the fine grounds presented to them by Sir James a,nd Lad} r Carroll, and Mr Pare Keiha. He said he had enjoyed very much his first visit to Gisborne, and he assured those present .that it would not be the last. At the invitation of Sir James Carroll, a challenge to a friendly game of bowls was accepted, and a very enjoyable contest eventuated.. Following aa*e the results : Challenge game : G. Allport, Hon.
