THE KAISER'S APPEALS.
(Reufer's Telegram.) ; AMSTERDAM, October 1. - . The Kaiser, m accepting Von Hei'tling^.s resignation, said: "*T must with heavy heart deny myself your further cor-operation. " He requested Hertling. to remain- in -office until a feuccessor' was found. The Kai'sey added that ho desired the German people henceforth to co-operate • more effectively m deciding the fate, of the Fatherland. Therefore m the future men possessing the people's, trust should widely co-operate m the duties of Government. {Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) .' AMSTERDAM, October 2. The Kaiser has sent a message to.cthe Fatherland Party. His appeal is to the whole people', /aridY he says: "In Hhiese most earnest , times I wish ypu to resolutely gather -■ round nic ■ and gi ye youif blood and wealth until the last breath for the defence of the' Fatherlari J d." : ■:'- Vbrwaerts,' which' the : Government is appareritly now making its vehicle for the breaking of the ' seriousness of the position to the people, describes the situation as one of fearful gravity, and appeals, to all to' do their duty.
