(Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) NEW YORK, Sept. Ii
Mr. Frank Simmonds, commenting on the offensive m the St. Mihiel sector, says : "Foch's success is a magnificent example of the advantages of unified command, and as a revelation of Foch's military genius it is hopeful evidence that there will not be a 'let up' policy m the general Allied offensive. . Foch is now free to launch an offensive m the direction of.Briey (northwest of Metz) and the iron mines without danger to his southern flank, and from Nancy between Metz and Strassburg, which would be the beginning of the real invasion of Germany, which is certain to come m 1919, compelling the; Germans to evacuate North.France and Western Belgium.
