While the question of ; abolishing titles has been' agitating some Canadians who do hot find>-t_e war anxieties sufficient for th»ir present needsy three of our democratic friends to the south have promptly accepted these J ame „ B "tish honors. General Pershing is a G.C.B: ; General Bliss and General March are G.C.M.G. All are entitled to be called "Sir" and their wives are U.dy Pershing. Lady March, and Lady Bp.Ss, though the usage may not be permitted m the United States. It is not likely that these distinctions would be publicly announced if they had not been accepted with the approval of- the President. There is no "reason to • suppose that the generals will be better or worse soldiers . because of this episode. But the ( King and country have paid them a* traditional comphment.--Van-:ouver paper.
