Mr Massey states that details of the New Zealand wool contract have been satisfactorily settled. The Imperial Government accepts shipping responsibility. The other contracts were more difficult. There was no question of squeezing the producers, but the Government could not shift the existing purchases. The general outlook for Australasian producers was serious unless the war terminated soon. It was hoped that decreased submarining and a higher output of tonnage would solve the difficulty.
