. 35th ANNUAL MEETING. The 35th annual meeting of the Gisborne Gas Co. was held m the company's office last night, when Mr. H. J. Bushnell presided over a fair attendance of members. In moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet (already published), the chairman referred to the great difficulties which had been met during the year with the increased cost of every one of the articles used m manufacture, principally coal, which was nearly 100 per cent, higher than m the previous year. He thought the shareholders should be satisfied with the progress made and at the financial position of the company. There had been an increase m output during the year of 3^ million feet or 8.75 per cent., which must be regarded as exceedingly satisfactory. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The retiring directors and auditors were re-elected. The dividend

af 5 per cent- as recommended by. the directors was approved. At a subsequent meeting of the directors Mr. G. Matthewson was re-appoint-nd chairman of directors.
