LIQUOR NATIONALISATION.
WILL COST OVER- £400,000,000. LONDON, May 5. The British and Irish committee's report on the) State purchase of the liquor (including the export trade) is estimated to cost between £400,000,000 and £500,---000,060; The Scottish and Irish committees propose a purchase on the basis of prewar profits, the rates of capitalisation to include the wholesale trade. The Irish committee suggests the issue of purchase stock on a 4 per cent, basis.
