CHARGES AGAINST ARMY OFFICER.
LONDON, May 9. Twenty-five charges against Lieut.-Col. Mackay, Assistant Provost Marshal, Western command, were heard at Westminster before a courtrmartial.- The charges relate to Mackay's alleged transference of men from the army, to the military foot police and then securing them private employment as gardeners, poultry farmers, and chauffeurs on estates belonging--, to friends^ including American and London ladies. In another case, it is alleged that • Mackay cancelled the call-up notices of two servants of a club of which he was a member. In all cases the men's army allow, ances had been paid m addition to their wages. .. ■" •-'".,-
