i LONDON, May 16. A French communique . reports great reciprocal artillery activity north of Avre. One of our squadrons dropped 7000 kilogrammes of projectiles on the railway station* at Toutasti and on Chattel sur le Toulne.
The enemy bombaisded the region of Dunkirk and did slight damage. There were no victims. "" • ' ' ■
The evening French communique says : We 'violently bombed north of Montdidier and between Montdidier and Noyon. We yesterday evening seized the wood on the west bank of the Avre. A strong counter-attack this morning was repulsed with heavy ..losses. A German attack south of Rollot was also completely defeated.
