FRANCO-GERMAN AGREEMENT.

(Australian and' N.Z. Cable Association. : (Received May 4, 8.45 a.m.) AMSTERDAM, May 3. A Franco-German agreement has been negotiated at Berne. It provides for the internment m Switzerland of officer.-; who have been made pi'isoner at lea^t eighteen months, and/ the repatriation of non-commissioned officers and^ men. imprisoned for a similar length of time. It is stated, that the agreement affects 25,000 German officers and 120,000 other -Germans.

Interned civilians will be permitted to return 'to their previous places of residence. . f
