REPAIRS TO LIGHTHOUSE

DUNEDIN, this day. Representation to the Works Department that Dog bland lighthouse needed examination led to a visit of inspection. It was discovered that the lighthouse had been structurally damaged by a lightning stroke some time ago. Mr. MacKenzie, district engineer, has prepared a scheme for building an outside casing of reinforced concrete for the entire height, nearly 100 ft. The work is proceeding as expeditionary as possibte under the difficult circumstances.
