Despite tho sorrows and hardships of the past three years, thcie has been an nil-round .improvement m the physical condition of children m London. During the war medical officers of the L.C.C. have inspected 200,000 school children annually, and a continuous improvement m health has been noted.

la the third term of 1917 the results among entrance children were the best ever attained, the percentage of those m a poorly-nourished condition being considerably less than half that of 1913.
