(Australian and N.Z. Cable Association]
(Received May 1, 2.10 p.m.) LONDON April 30, 4.30 p.m. A United Press correspondent states : Yesterday was one of Hindenbufg's worst days since the commencement of the offensive, tho French, with magnificent dash, recovering the whole of l^ocre and Louie Hospice eastward of Mont Rouge, patting th© enemy into a nasty pocket nt the cross-roads known as Hyde Park corner. It is doubtful if the Germans still hold the cross-roads.
Von Marshall's attempt against the Belgians astride he Ypres-Staden railway yesterday pushed m some outposts, but was thwarted on the main line m the vicinity of the canal. Tli 3 British 25th, 49th, and 21st Divisions further south repulsed ten attacks, the 25th alone smashing three by 10 o'clock, and four by noon. The French stopped approximately the same number. .
