Mr. Fraser had granted permission to use the quarry for crushing purposes at a small charee. . The time had cam© for intense cultivation, and if it had not been for the Farmers' Union these matters would certainly not ' have been so well advanced. Other members spoke m eulogistic terms of the success of the movement. The Citizens' Defeno? Committee wrote pointing out that the contemplated sheep drive had been • postponed. — Mr. Bridge moved that regret be expressed that the drive had been put off just when all the arrangements were almost complette. — Mr. Field thought that when' the condition of roads improved the time would be more opportune, and there would be more prospect of success.
