COOK COUNTY COUNCIL.
The monthly meetihg of the Cook County Council was held to-day. Present: Crs G. M. Reynolds (chairman), C. Matthews, H. White, .7. Orr, G. E Jones, D. J. Parker, and R. C. Murphy. Leave of absence wttß granted ,to Crs. Bowen, Coop, and Witters. . *, Mr Day, Tolaga Bay, on behalf of Mr David Dunlop, .Arataha, drew attention to the fact that the drainage work done m front of his property threatened serious damage to Mr Dmdop's front paddock.— The Overseer stated that tbe Council had cut no road.— -Received Mr G. W. Willock wrote regarding* drainage of Kaiti. He stated there was no natural watercoiirsd thsough Mr'de Lautoui-'s land; as. stated m the .Obuncil's letter. The drain adopted by Mr Fraser was, according to his information, put m by th_ teKant?s servants without authority, when the owner Wis an absentee, to rivoid -this 'draJr&ee waters .from Owen road cutting adjoining properties at its outfall.
