CORRESPONDENCE.
THE GISBORNE HUTMENT.
(To the Editor of the Herald.)
Sir,— The paragraph under Red Triangle heading m last issue, referring to the anonymous donor's generous offer not 'being responded to is rather regrettable. I trust all amounts specially marked for that purpose have been put to the right fund. I fancy somehow a few of the. donations have slipped into the "big: pool." — I am, etc., SUBSCRIBER.
The treasurer, Mr. ' E. P. Mountf ort, states that, whilst included m the general effort, all amounts specially earmarked for any particular purpose will be appropriated as directed by tbe donors, and a careful record has been i taken. A sum of £108 8s Has been allocated to-date m the treasurer's books for "hut restoration, 1 " and as the executive is desirous of taking advantage of the generous offer of the anonymous donor, the treasurer will be pleased to receive any further sums to make up the balance of the £250.
