A CALL TO INDIA.
TO REDOUBLE HER EFFORTS. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received April 8, 2.15 p.m.) LONDON, April 7. Mr. Lloyd George, m a message to the Viceroy of India, states : In view of the German rulers' transparent intention to 'establish tyranny, not only throughout Europe, but Asia, we ask the Government and people of India to redouble their efforts. The enemy's attempt m the West is being checked, bub to prevent the menace spreading, eastward every lover bf freedom and law must. play his part. Mr. Lloyd. George does not. doubt India will add to the laurels already won and equip itself, even on a greater scale, as a bulwark to save Asia from the oppression and disorder which it is the enemy's object to achieve. "The Viceroy replied : "India, fully re.*tlises the great issue at( stake. Tlie trumpet call will not fall on deaf ears.'' He is confident it wili awake the princes and people to a keener sense of the great I danger which, stemmed m Europe, now [threatens to spread more east-ward.
