BOMBARDMENT OF PARIS.
SHELL STRIKES CHURCH DURIXG PASSTON SERVICE. SEVENTY-FIVE PEOPLE KILLED AND 90 INJURED. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association) PARIS, March 30. A German shell struck a Paris church on Good Friday during Tenebrae ser-. vice, and killed 75 people^and injured ,90 others, including many women and. : uhildren. The church was crowded, and just as the service was starting a shell pierced the roof and shook the edifice* to /its foundations. '< A large pillar collapsed, bringing down an arch on the congregation. ;S Portions of shell scattered m all direc-: tions. Many willing helpers ' searched the debris., and removed the wounded. ' President Poincare and the Archbishop of Paris were early on the scene. The weeping Archbishop cried: "The' wretches have chosen the day^nd the' hour of Christ's deaths., on the Cross to commit the crime." Among the killed was M. Stroothing, a Counsellor of the Swiss Legation. The shell came from the long-ranee gun. .-.**•. The church was previously struck during High Mass on Sunday, and* several people were injured: '
