GERMAN REPORTS.
(Admiralty Intercepts— Wireless Press.l LONDON, March 30. A German official report mentions local engagements on both sides of the Scarpe, and says : — We broke into the foremost English positions and took prisoner saveral thousands. The English continued near and northwards of Albert their fruitless'and costly counter-attacks. We again attacked between the Somme and the Ancre, and drove out the enemy from his old positions and out of bravely-defended villages m n westerly and northwesterly direction via Wareusee, Abacpurt, and Plessier. The French repeatedly violently coun-ter-attacked on our n«w front between Montdidier and Noyon. Our booty since the beginning of the battle comprises 70,000 prisoners and 1100 gun's, of which General von Luder took 40,000 prisoners and 600 guns. Increased artillerying has continued m Lorraine. LONDON, March 31. A German official report says : — We cleared the Avette. We drove out the Anglo-French from parts of the foremost positions between the Somme and Avre and captured Beaucourt and Mezieres. French attacks against Montdidier failed. . ; . ,
