The Auckland-Wellington crioket match commenced to-day, in dull, fine weather. Wellington, batting, had scored 198 for 7 wickets at the luncheon interval—Huddlestone, c Garrad, b Smith, 90; Wilson, c Brooke-Smith, b Smith, 7; Barker, c Hemus, b Smith, 0; Dind, c Horspool, b Smith, 31; Crawford, b Coates, 42; Tuckwell, b Coates, 1 ; Tucker, c Brooke-Smith, b Smith, 1 ; Burton and ' Brice are the not out men.
