GERMAN RUTHLESS USE OF INFANTRY.
TRIFLING GAINS AS RESULT OF MASSED ATTACK. (Reuter's Telegram.) j LONDON, March 28. Reuter's headquarters correspondent says : — ' ( In the past 24 hours' the Germans Have only made comparatively trifling gains as the result of numerous massed attacks practically all along our front, ' "while we may claim several distinct local successes, either completely repulsing blows, or wrest jng back gains by counter-attacks. ' The German high command continues the use *of infantry with ruthless prodjgality. The fact that the general pressure has momentarily eased may be partly attributable to , the enemy waiting to bring up heavy artillery .preparatory to another great effort, and partly to exhaustion. Needless to say Ave are ; taking every advantage of the temporary, ;• lull. v
