TRIED TO HANG A CANDIDATE.
QUEBEC, November 27. Mr. Joseph Barnard, editor of l'Evenment, and unionist candidate for Quebec County, was threatened with hanging at Ancienne Lor ette, where ho was * prevented from addressing the electors by a gang of anti-conscriptionists. One of the riiflians produced a rope, and with others charged the platform when Mr. Barnard was attempting to speak. Mr. Barnard was struck several times, but not seriously injured. • • *
