4J At the half-yearly meeting of the-jjVic-toiia League held on Wednesdays the ; following votes of thanks were passed :— \ (1)- To the Tiniroto, Hangaroa, Pehiri, and Waerenga-o-kuri .districts; (2) to the Wharekopae, Tahora, . and Tahunga . districts. These districts raised substantial amounts on two Saturdays, Novem- ' ber ,24th and December Ist, m spite of ! many difficulties, particularly Weather and roads. (3) To Mrs. H. White, who ! has worked so successfully m organising 'the districts for the shop; (4) to Mr. Darton, who has been selling flowers for the benefit of the Red Cross Fund ; (5) Mr. W. Barker for the gift of bench, cup--1 board, etc.. to the shop; (6) Mr. Da vies, J treasurer, for much of his time and attention; (7) Miss Gray, hon. secretary of the Victoria League of Poverty Bay. j The following pleasing report was presented :— lt will interest the public of Poverty Bay to read tbe result of the , working of the Red Cross shop for the six months ending 30th November, 1917. , The following statement will show what has been done during that period : — Credit : 1917— May 31, balance from last year, £1 2s 8d; November 30, net proceeds from shop, £2414 12s Id; dona.: tions. concerts, salo of bottles, etc., £1522 14s; special donation* Gisborne SheepfarmeiH Co.
