COOIv COUNTY ELECTIONS, JJANGAROA "DIDING. TO THE RATEPAYERS. T ADIES AND GENTLEMEN,— I would respectfully remind the Ratepayers that I will again be a Candidate for Election for the Hangaroa Riding. I have had the honor of being your representative (with one short break of office during a visit to the Homeland) for seventeen years. My endeavor has always been to dp my utmost for the whole of the ratepayers of the Riding, and, if re-elected, I will not m any way slacken my efforts to secure all possible improvements necessary for the welfare of the ratepayers. I can claim to have a very thorough and intimate knowledge of every portion of the Riding, and it has always been my aim to nave the moneys for the' Biding'' expended 'fairly and m the very best interests of all conoerned. The Riding is not an easy one to administer, it having so many communities of interest, but m my honest efforts to be impartial. I havej I feel, gained. the respect not only of the ratepayers, but also of my fellow-members on the Council, who have entrusted me with the important duties appertaining to the chairmanship. I fully recognise that a. very great deal has still to be done lp secure much-needed road improvements m many directions, and it ia my firm opinion that the time lias now arrived when the ratepayers should agree to proposals having for their object the raising of moderate sums by way of loans. Under this system it will be possible to make improvements on a. much mote satisfactory scale, and tho works so carried out will afford permanent results, and, consequently, prove very much cheaper m the long run. What ia more, the ratepayers will be avoided much inconvenience which is inseparable from the present system under which very heavy maintenance work has to be constantly \xndertaken out of revenue. The Riding is rapidly becoming more settled, and its growing prosperity warrants the carrying out of further improvements' on the lines here indio-ited. I trust that I may once again .have the honor of being re-elected to the Council as the representative of the Riding, for I share the aims of its ratepayers m promoting its advancement and welfare. I remain, Yours faithfully, 831 F. J. LYSNAR. HOSPITAL BOARD ELEOTIOJf. ''CTCTE, the undersigned Ratepayers m V V ".' Cook County, offer oux services as Candidates for . Membersip of the Hospital Board. We are entirely m agreement with the very large number of Ratepayers m the County .who have recently, and veiy emphatically, expressed their opinion that the disturbing influences m connection with the Hospital must once and for all be removed. We want a thorough and complete investigation, m which the blame shall be laid on the right shoulders; and we want such practical steps taken as shall ensure an entire absence, of further trouble of a like" nature m the future. We have no private ends to seek, but only wish for th« welfare and success of the, Hospital. We are strongly m favor of taking such safeguards as shall ensure strictly economical ' administration, while At the same time obtaining that efficiency which will make, our institution, both as a Hospital for the Sick and as a Training School for Nurses; second to none m the Dominion.
