GERMAN RAIDER'S CREW.
ADRIFT IN THE PACIFIC.

The members of the crew of the German raider See Adler, which sunk a number of vessels m the Pacific, and eventually became a total loss on Mopelia Island, are still at liberty, states the Sydney Sun. Information has been brought to Sydney thai ' 62 Germans from the raider have been reported making for the Solomon or Gilbert Islands m a whitepainted schooner of- about- 140 tons register. It is believed that the vessel is leaking badly. Unless the raider's crew succeed m trapping a bigger vessel it is considered certain that they will finaljy make for tjMik}: : '. a Butch possession, where the'-merf-jmll be iriterried. " Mr. W.M. Milne, vice-president of the Import and Export Company, of Los Angeles, who spent five months m Batavia and Singapore And other ports, stated, on being interviewed m Sari Francisco, that commerce raiders have been fitted up m the East Indies and sent to the South Pacific Ocean. "I was lold by British officials at Singapore that they had reports that at least three ships had been fitted out," said Mr. Milne. "The representatives of the British Government were watching matters very closely, but as the suspected raiders were not being prepared m waters controlled by the British no direct action could be taken." *
