He moved that the Council request Wairoa and Napier to join, m protesting against tho. decision of the Government. Similar movements m Auckland and Wellington had received attention through political pressure being brought to bear. If power could be produced from Waikaremoana it would prove a boon to the whole island. j

Cr. Munns suggested that all local" bodies should be asked to join m tho protest, and this was incorporated m tlie • original motion, which Avas carried. j
