Items of general interest m the Sup-' plementary Estimates are: Additional cost of cinema film censorship, £500; additional expenses of , fresh water fisheries, £500; salary and expenses of New Zealand war correspondent, £1600; renovating graves of New Zealand soldiers ,who have died m the Dominion, £250 ; administration of Military Service Act, £20,000; ahd Registration of Aliens Act. £2SQO (both items being recoverable , from loan money); scientific and industrial research, £250; medical and nursing services m country districts, £2000; expenses connected with the distribution of war relief funds, including postage and freight on gift goods, £6000; establishment and maintenance of leav-
ing hospital at Embaries, France, £10,---0 expenses connected with cinema films taken m France for patriotic purposes, £750; purchas© of wheat m Australia and New Zealand, £100,000; Government meat shops, purchase of stock and general working expenses, £40,000 ; investigation of Moutane tussock land, South Island, £500 ; purchase of threshing machines for sale or hire to farmers m connection with) wheatgrowing, on account, £100. The education votes include: £9000 as additional grants to school committees for incidentals; training classes for returned soldiers, £300; war bursaries for soldiers' children, £3000.
