" WATCH YOUR STEP."
EOHO OF THE REVUE. An'^pii9, qlflthe "Watch Your, Step'vß©vue Company's recent Auckland performance, and the tour which followed, was again heard last. night at the meeting of the~Retiishe3 .Soldiers' Association (.says the Auckland Herald of last WedI nesday). The revue was produced m aid of tine Matter's funds. Mv W. J. Meredith, one of the joint secretaries of the revue company, attended, and was given leave to make a statement. Mr Meredith asserted that the tour, which had proved ko .disastrous, had not been authorised by the executive of the company, no meeting of which he had been able to call together. He alleges that the Union Company's list showed that 85 persons went on tour, the name of some of whom he had never heard before. His roll number of members of the company was never larger than 74, and there were only about 50 performers. The executive, the other secretary, and himself had, he said, . been absolutely ignored. ,Mr Meredith, as an officer of the executive, objected to the report of the sub-committee of the association, whjch had attributed the blame for the loss on, the tour to mismanagement. Mr- P. A. Hillary said 'the sub-com-mittee's .report cast no aspersions on the executive of the revue company. Mr Meredith also read a' statement showing that his motor car expenses for the revue season totalled £2 14s 6d, the details of. which he gave and- which, he contended, were authorised and riot unreasonable. No action was- taken by the committee beyond thanking "Mr Meredith . for his explanation. :'. .
