A French oommunique states: Thtnight was cabii along the entire frotit north of the Aisne. The enemy only replied feebly w.ith artillery. We are organising the captured positions on the south bank of the Oise and the Aisno Canal, the bridges of which the retreating enemy blew up. The Germans reattacked north of Chaume Wood, to, the right of the [Meuse. After a lively fight, in-whicih tbe enern^ suffered serious losses, they only gained a footing m one of our ad vanced elements.
