' Advice has been receiA'ed that Private W. B. Mossman, son of Mr W. J. Mossman, Avas wounded at Messines and admitted on June 11th to Walton-on-Thames hospital, Mrs D. Neilson, 401 Palmerston road, has been advised that her brother, Private Walter R. Pilcher, has been wounded on the back of the scalp and was admitted to hospital on June 8. ' Private Pilcher, who was a hairdresser at Tokomaru Bay, left Gisborne Avith the 17th Reinforcements. . The Minister of Defence has advised Mrs O. J. Morell, Whataupoko, that her son, Private W: R. Morell, has been severely wounded m the right thigh, and Avas admitted to hospital on June 8. Private Morell is the eldest son of Mr and x\trs O. J. Morell. He enlisted from Te Araroa. where he was engaged m the boot-making business. Leaving A\ith the 16th Reinforcements, Private Morell Avas kept at his trade m Sling Camp, and had just gone to France Mr and Mrs Morell's youngest son * was killed on Gallipoli, Avhilst two more sons are also at the front. v When last heard of they were somewhere m Belgium. Advice has been received by Nurse Witty that her husband', Corporal Gordon Witty, has been admitted to Brockenhurst hospital, England, suffering from

Private" ' Howie left Avith the Ninth Reinforcements m January, 1916. The sad advice has reached Mr H. it. Kendon, of Gisborne, that his . brother, Corporal H. F. Kendon, was killed' in action on. June 7. A fifth son of Mr Kendon, of Auckland, 'Corporal Kendon left Auckland with another brother Avith the 19th Reinforcements. James, recently reported as having, died.. of Avouijds, was the -son of Mr T. J.- James, of Auckland, and 28 years x>f age, Heiwas born m the Pahiatua district, -his father hiving been one of the pioneers of .the 40Mile Bush settlements, artd was farming at Glenmurray at the time of his enlistment m the reinforcement . draft that left -NeAV Zealand last year. Rifleman James .fought, m Both Egypt and France, and -was shot m the chest on May 6, succumbing two- days, later. - . * Lieut. Kieth Williams, son of the Rev. A. 0.
