Mir Roberts, interrogated m the House of Commons, . said New Zealand •wamb was landed at 8d per lb and was' sold to I the retailers at 10£ d. The Food Ministry was considering retail meat prices. According to a recent cable the best mutton and beef were being sold at 2s per lb' at Home. From this it may be assumed . that lamb was being sold at a higher price, 'but taking 2s as a' -basis it indicates that retailers m England are apparently "getting 'the difference between 10£ d, at which, the Government is selling, and the retail price of 2s, amounting to Is l£d.
