CANADA'S AVAILABLE FORCES.
(Australian and N.Z. Gable Association.! (Received June 20, 8.50 a.m.) OTTAWA, June 19. On the second reading of ° the Conscription Bill Sir R, L. Borden said that a million and a half men would be available for military service, of whom seven hundred and sixty thousand were single men. Between the ages of twenty and thirty-four the men available were six hundred thousand.. No new principle was involved. The Canadian Militia Act covered' the precise ground, except that it involved balloting: The present method was fairer and more to the eoonomic welfare of the country.
