Telegram., (Koijeived May 3, 1.25 p.m.) LONDON, May 2. Sir Douglas Haig reports: —lt was a dull night. There was artillery activity between St. Quentin and Lens. Wo repulsed a. German raid at Fauqnissart.. A French communique states: There was great reciprocal artillery fire in the region of Chemin des Dames, On the Cernay-Ilurtebise-Craonne front oui' machine guns and grenades repulsed enemy partial attacks on our trenches. There was a'violent artillery struggle at night in the sectors Montcornillet and Mouthay, in Champagne, and. lively grenade fighting in the woods west of Montcornillet, wherein we progressed. Our._ detachments penetrated the German lines at different points at Les Eparges, Our air squadrons,on the night of thei 30th bombed several railway stations and military establishments in the region of Laon, Vouziers and Rethel, causing fires.
