FIRST DIVISION.
about 50,000 Left.
Assuming that this rate of exhaustion continues— 67ss First Division men per four-weekly period — it is evident (states the New Zealand Times of Saturday) that there are sufficient men left m the First Division for still another seven drafts, or tup to and including the 37th Reinforcements, mobilising m, Deoember next. In addition, at the exhaustion of the First Division by ballot-, there will be a revision of exemptions ar.an.ted— which, it |is calculated^ . will supply another two drafts. This means that there; ia little likelihood of members of thei Second ' Division being balloted for be- j fore .January o,r February of the nexti year, -and ,they will then be given two J months' notice. The position, of course, j oannot. be forecasted accurately, being! dependent upon the rate of voluntary! enlistment of members -of both the' First and Second Divisions,, the number] of fit obtained, and the exemptions granted by the Military Service Boards.
