According to a* Gazette issued at Wellington on Thursday last the following men have been ordered under the Military Service Act to report themselves to the local group commander at the Defence Office on Friday, May 4th, at 10 a.m., for medical examination: —

Included m the above list is the name of Alfred Forde Matthews, son of Mr A. F. Matthews, the well-known local surveyor and civil engineer. This name has obviously been included m error, as the young man actually volunteered and went into camp on February 6 last year, being attached to the mounted seotion of the . 13th reinforcements. He was subsequently transferred to ther infantry under Major C J. Hamilton, of Gisborne. and is at the' present time oh abtive Service on the; Western front, having been wounded m the advance at Fler's on September 9 last, and resuming duty six weeks later.
