MR WATSON'S CHARGES AGAIN SI MR HUGHES.

(Received March 14, 10.35 a.m.) MELBOI'kNE, March 14. In the Senate, Senator Gardiner moved for the appointment of a Royal Commission to enquire into Mr Watson's charges against Mr Hughes. ■
Mr Ferricks interjected, '"Everybody knows that was bought,; the only question is, what price was paid?" The- motion was ruled out of order. Mfc Gardiner then moved a motion to dissent from the President's riding, which was carried by 16 to 15, Senator Pearce moved the appointment of a Commission, provided the member accept the responsibility of making a definite, charge. This was defeated by 16 to 15, ami Mr Gardiner's motion Mas carried by 18 to 13, Messrs Keating and Bakhap voting against the Government. Mr Watson announced that he had accepted service of a writ issued by Mr Hughes.
