1 Application was made to J\lr 'Justice 'Simpson, ia equity, at Sydney last week^ fpr an oijder for adequate* provision to ;,be made-./ from the? estate of the late John Norton for the maintenance and education of hjs daughter Joan. Mrs Norton's affidavit set out that the tes~ tator.had directed his trustees to pay out of income £500 a year to his daugater Joan when sh,e attained the jage of 21 years, and until she was 30 years of age. The affidavit of W. A. Windeyerstated that from admissiqns made by Norton's counsel the assets of. the estate were af, the vatae of £150,000, with an income of £17,0QQ. Counsel for ihe applicant stated 1 that as matters stood at present, and if the present income in th<* estate was maintained, there would be a great accumulation of principally the, time the applicant, Joan Norton, now nine years of age, attained the age of 30 years.
