A Mesopotamia official message states: We mado a surprise attack and crossed the Diala by moonlight on Thursday. We established, a strong post on the right bank, and bridged the Tijrris. A strong detachment marched up the right bank. We found tho enemy six miles southwest of Bagdad, and drove them back two mih 11 *. We forced the passage of the Diala river on Friday. We advanced four miles towards Bagdad. Our right bank forces dislodges the enemy from his second position. We bivouacked and captured the ground. There were dust storms and a violent gale. Wo forced ba«k the Turks three miles west-south-west of Bagdad on Saturday.
