" McGrath, of the Royal Canadian Regiment, has been missing since October 8 last:: The Norsewood district has received with deap regret the news of the death at the front- of 7-JJriy-ate Alfred Lmid. This gal-anA soldier. was born at Norsewood.' and was educated at the local school. Deoeased, jwho left New Zealand with the 16th Reinforcements, went into action with the New Zealanders in the big push on .the 'Somme, but appears 1 to have fallen after participating in two or three weeks' heavy fighting. He was 34 years of age, and was one of three brothers who have gallantly served their country.
