He belongs to one of the largest and most famous houses of the nobility. In a remarkable speech in the Council of the Empire m December, denouncing the\ dark forces, he said ihe was dissatisfied at Trepoff's succession to Stunner. Ho did not believe tho change would make any difference. He demanded to know if Trepoff had full power to carry out tine reports. * He declared : "We are not afraid of the external enemy ; our only fear is internal collapse." .... _ • , /
