FIGHT WITH ASKARIS.
HANDFUL OF BRITISH MAKE GALLANT STAND.
(The Times.) (Received January 12, 9.15 a.m.) JOHANNESBURG, January ll. Twenty-five members of Colonel Northey's column' dispersed. 250 Germans. They fought the whole day. Eventually the Askaris took -panic and retired with eighty-five casualties, when the defenders had two cartridges left. Five of Northey's party were killed.
