THROUGH SWITZERLAND.

POSSIBILITY OF GERMAN t INVASION. 1 TO STRIKE BLdW AT ALLIES. E t (United Service:) k (Received January 11, 1.40 p.m.) LONDON, January 10. The Daily News' Lausanne correspondent states tliat despite German denials, the Swiss are pre-occupied with the possibility of a German invasion m a desperate attempt to secure peace m three months by a smashing blow m the West. Tliree ways of invasion are discussed : Firstly, from Austria, through Grisons j and the St. Gothard into Italy ; secondly, from Germany via Porrentruy, .. threatening Belf or t; thirdly j via Schaffhausen, threatening tho industrial heart " of France. Swiss military experts opine that Germany is quite likely to attack at three points simultaneously. ' PARIS, Dec. 18. The Temps, m a leading editorial headed "The Other Danger," suggests tliat the German peace manoeuvre possibly hides preparations for a further orime m * the violation of Switzerland. . It says Germany will be able to say that - the world was warned, that if tlje Allies c refused peace they must accept the consequences and will base her action on the dictation that necessity knows no '.aw, which was the excuse for the violation of Belgium. "After fruitless tactical successes," it say*-, "Germany is ready fco do anything for a strategic decision. It is incontestable that the unlawful violent acts Germany threatens as calculated consequences of her pseudo-peace "proposals - justify this anxiety. If Germany thinks . it *tiecessary to destroy the rights of neva trals hi order to obtain a decision, she i will neither shrink nor hesitate, fc "The risk here is not p'atonic ; it is b immediate. The Allies must not ignore - it. Switzerland knows she has everys thing to fear from her Gfefman neignb bors and knows the value i of ' a Benin scrap of paper." v
