SULTAN OF EGYPT.
CONDEMNED BY TURKISH WAK TRIBTJNAL, AMSTERDAM, November 17. A despatch from Beirut, Syria, says that the War Tribunal has passed a sentence of death on Hussein Kenial Pasha, iStlltan of Egypt, on the ground that he placed under.'* foreign rule parts of the Turkish Empire. ' The death sentenoe was confirmed, the despatch says, by an Imperial decree. Abbas H^lmi, who was Khedive of Egypt when the war began, espoused the oause of Turkev and was dethroned in December of 1914. The British Government then proclaimed the appointment of his uncle, Hussein , Kemal, ae Sultan of Egypt. The sentence has been, of course, imposed in the Sultan's absence. $e is not a prisoner.
