A naval aeroplane closed m on the victim. A ding-dong struggle ensued. For a brief period it seemed as though fortune was favoring the raider, which \va.s rising higher and higher. The raider passed the coast defences. The aeroplane, however, continued to pursue it, .while naval guns poured m a pitiless' fire.
Suddenly the guns ceased and the spectators on the shore watched with breathless excitement.
Two aeroplanes were observed manoeuvring alongside the airship. It was soon evident the monster's fate was sealed.
A sheet of flame appeared at the stern of the Zeppelin, which travelled rapidly from point to point and enveloped the airship.
