ENEMY REPORTS.
(Reuter's Telegram.) LONDON, October 15. An Austrian communique says: The Italians repeatedly penetrated our lines south of Oppacchanella, but were ejected. We captured 2700 prisoners. (Australian and N.Z.; Cable Association.) -.'...' AMSTERDAM, October 15. A German communique says :— We repulsed strong attacks on the Somme and recaptured some positions m tlie southern sector of St. Pierre Vaast Wood, and also portion of Ambos Wood, north of Chaulnes. We made progress m the Carpathians and passed Bulzenlau. (Received October 16, 11.55 a.m.) LONDON, October 15. A German communique states :—English attacks north of Thiepval led to hand-to-hand fighting. The enemy got a firm foothold at one point, but elsewhere was heavily repulsed. The French obtained a foothold at the village and sugar refinery at Genermont. We hold the southern part of Ablaincourt. There is activity west of Lutsk. Russian attacks south of Yaturcy and Bubrow were repulsed. We recaptured the summit of Smotrec, lost on tne 21st. AustroHungarians repelled the Rumanians on both sides of the Syurduk. Pass. Enemy attempts to attack east of the MonastirFlorina railway failed.
