''.SIR /OLIiVN BYNG., Lieuteuant-Genei'al the Hon. h>ir Julian Hedworth . George Byng, K.C.M.G., K.G.8.,: has taken over the command of the Canadian Army Corps at the front, on Lieutenant-General Sir E. Aldersoii's. return to England. Lieutenant-General Byng served m Egypt and South Africa, and commanded the British troops m Egypt from 1912 till the outbreak of the prosent war. He commanded first the 3rd Cavalry Division, and later the 9th Army Corps, at the Dardanelles.
