(Reuter's Telegram.) : (Received July 25, 12.40 p.m.) LONDON, July 24. In the House of Commons, m reply to a series of questions regarding the representation of the Dominions on. the committee to consider industrial and commercial policy after the war, Mr Asquith read a telegram sent by Mr Bonar Law to the Dominions m May stating that the Government desired as soon as practicable to Convene an Imperial Conference to consider the commercial policy to be adopted after the war and intimating their intention prior to the conference to form a committee m England to discover whether agreement among tlie British parties on fiscal questions. was possible under the changed conditions caused by the war; also assuring the .Dominions that the appointment of- this committee, whatever the results, would not unduly delay the holding of; tho Imperial Conference or interfere with the free discussion of problems with the oversea representatives. Tlie Dominion Governments concurred and the committee was accordingly appointed. Mi" Mac Master stated that m view of the fact that the principle of representation of the Dominions was recognised at the Paris Conference, was it not possible m working out details of the scheme that the Dominions should be represented? ... Mr Asquith said Mr Hughes went to the Paris Conference to represent the Empire, not an/ particular Dominion.
